What is Mission 2819?

Mission 2819 is a Veteran-owned, Christ-centered, Missions-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization commissioned through Matthew 28:19 with a singular mission: to #Go2819. We achieve this mission by supporting and developing projects, programs, organizations, and individuals worldwide that are furthering Christianity in response to the Great Commission.

Jesus said “Go!”…
So It’s Go Time!

The specific objectives and purpose of Mission 2819 include:

What We Believe...

About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

God created Man to fellowship with Him forever. Like a King who can choose to pardon offenses against him, God graciously offers the gift of eternal life to those who seek. Into the Bible, God placed his inerrant Word to Mankind–The history, His promise, His instructions, and His charge.

Proverbs 30:5
John 1:1-5; 3:16
2 Timothy 3:16
2 Peter 1:20-21

About Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity by dying on a cross. The Atonement for all mankind. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Acts 1:9-11
I Corinthians 15:3-4
I Timothy 6:14-15
Hebrews 4:14-15

About Mankind

Humans were created in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called “sin,” that separates people from God. No one can overcome sin’s penalty through self-improvement or good works, but only by accepting the gift of salvation through placing one’s trust in Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

Genesis 1:27
John 14:6
Romans 3:23; 5:16-18; 6:23
Ephesians 2:8-9
Titus 3:5

About Good Works

While “Good Works” cannot earn a person salvation, they are the manifestation of a grateful spirit, the embodiment of Christ. Jesus exemplified Good Works throughout his life–feeding the hungry, serving the least of these, ministering to the lost, and the list goes on. Christ-followers are to be Christ-like, rich in Good Works, for it shines the Light in the world’s darkness. Jesus’ final message to Mankind is the Great Commission, to “Go! Make disciples of all nations”, a call to Good Works, sharing the Gospel in every corner of the world. This is the core of Mission 2819 and what it means to #Go2819.

Our Story

Michael Horsey visits Check Point Charlie at the Berlin Wall. Visiting over 30 countries opened his eyes to the truth that God doesn’t see borders, but only His Children. This truism inspired him to start Mission 2819.

Mission 2819 was founded in February 2017 by retired U.S. Air Force officer Michael Horsey. For over 20 years, Michael dedicated his life in service to our country. Through this life journey that has led him to 33 countries, and many countries most Americans would never set foot in, God opened Michael’s eyes to His Truth: God doesn’t see borders, He sees only His children. It also reminded Michael of how blessed we are as a country. Taken together laid the foundation of Mission 2819: The Great Commission. To Go! Make disciples of ALL nations. A God-dedicated work to have global impact by sharing our blessings with our brothers and sisters in Christ here at home and around the world.

Over a decade ago, Michael became acquainted with a modern day Apostle Paul named Joseph Baidya. Short of stature, but big in heart for Christ, Brother Joseph leads a small island of Christianity in a sea of Islam that is his home country of Bangladesh, the world’s 4th largest Muslim country. Every day, Brother Joseph’s team is in the streets of Dhaka, the world’s most densely populated city, proselytizing Christ. Frequently, Brother Joseph travels to preach the Gospel in remote tribal villages, locations that would otherwise never know the name Jesus. Each year in January, Dhaka hosts the world’s largest Muslim religious gathering and in the middle of it all is Brother Joseph’s team of Christ Warriors. The result: Brother Joseph consistently achieves more for Christ than most American mega-churches! Every year, over 100 new Christians join God’s Army. Brother Joseph was Michael’s inspiration to found Mission 2819, to establish America’s only official connection to support this incredible revival happening in Bangladesh.

Since its start, Mission 2819 has grown to add new missions in addition to the support to Bangladesh. We have improved the lives of Christians in impoverished border communities in South Texas through residential home renovations and most recently partnered with a popular Branson MO entertainer to support a poor community in Costa Rica, with the aim of building a church/community center where the children can develop a personal relationship with Jesus.

This is just our beginning! Join us in this journey and #Go2819!

About the Founder

Mission 2819 Founder Michael Horsey at the Montana border, completing his quest to see God's blessings in all 50 U.S. states.

At age 16, Mission 2819 founder Michael Horsey accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Events leading up to this pivotal moment serve as example of Michael’s life as he says, “If you want to see God laugh, tell Him your plans.”

Born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, Michael was an exceptional young athlete with dreams of playing college baseball and football. A shoulder injury during a high school football game brought that dream crashing down. In the aftermath, Michael met Jesus. From that moment forward, Michael dedicated himself to a life of service.

He set out to become a physician, earning an undergrad degree in biochemistry and enrollment in medical school. But God again laughed and within six months redirected Michael’s path by introducing him to his wife, now of over 25 years. Michael, instead of pursuing medicine, earned a commission in the U.S. Air Force and, within three years of graduating college, was set on a new course as a military officer, married with two young children.

Fast forward 20 years and 33 countries later to 2016, God having laughed many more times, Michael came full circle. From his final military assignment at The Pentagon, Michael retired and returned to the St Louis metro area where he had originally met his wife and begun this journey. Throughout his military service, Michael had also served God as called. He had volunteered his time, worked service projects, preached, taught classes, led Bible studies, shepherded the lost, ministered to those in need, served as a Deacon, and even started and led a church service in the Middle East.

In February 2017, God opened a new door for Michael… Mission 2819 was born!

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” Isaiah 6:8
